The factory Yamaha system uses small speakers and limited power. Our upgrade is designed to take the system to an entirely different level.

Depending on the configuration you select, the kit allows you to:

⚠️ FX vs. GP / VX — IMPORTANT

Yamaha did not use the same audio configuration across every WaveRunner, so FX and GP/VX systems are handled differently.

FX models can retain the factory Yamaha audio controls.

Our system uses a custom Yamaha audio interface harness designed to integrate the upgraded amplifier and speakers while maintaining the factory dash and audio controls.

⚠️ Yamaha GP / GP1800R & VX

For GP and VX models, we do not recommend trying to retain the factory Yamaha audio electronics.

Instead, PWC Brackets developed a dedicated Yamaha factory button replacement that installs directly into the OEM button location.

You keep the clean factory appearance while getting a control system designed to work properly with the upgraded audio system.

🧩 FlexRing™ 6.5″ CNC Aluminum Adapter System

One of the biggest problems with upgrading Yamaha’s factory speakers is fitting a larger 6.5″ speaker into a pod originally designed around a smaller factory speaker.

That’s exactly why we created the PWC Brackets FlexRing™.

Instead of grinding apart or destroying your factory speaker pods, our adapter system allows you to install a proper 6.5″ speaker while maintaining a clean factory appearance.

Minor Modification Required

Installation requires:

• One small drilled hole
• Two small plastic tabs to be trimmed

This isn’t just a speaker swap.

Power matters.

Our Yamaha WaveRunner audio upgrade uses a high-efficiency marine amplifier to give the upgraded speakers the power they need.

Amplifier Output

Stage 1:
🔊 Up to 100W x 4 RMS @ 4Ω

2-Ohm Operation:
🔊 Up to 130W x 4 RMS @ 2Ω

Stage 2 Bridged:
🔥 Up to 250W x 2 RMS

🔋 Do I Need a Second Battery?

Recommended — but not required.

The system uses an efficient Class-D amplifier and is designed with the Yamaha WaveRunner electrical system in mind.

However, additional battery capacity can provide:

✔ Better voltage stability
✔ Additional electrical reserve
✔ Better support for higher-output audio systems

🔧 Installation

This system was designed to be DIY-friendly, but this is a real amplifier and speaker upgrade — not simply swapping two speakers.

Installation Difficulty: Approximately 7/10

Basic tools required include:

• Screwdriver
• Pick tool
• Allen bits
• Wire crimping tool
• Step drill bit
• Black RTV silicone

If you’re comfortable working on your WaveRunner and following detailed instructions, the system can be installed yourself.

If you’d rather have a professional handle it, installation support is available in select locations.
